About Ms. Durian
Ms. Durian began as a modest shoebox bakery tucked away in the heart of Potong Pasir, making its sweet debut in March 2019. Founded by two passionate women, Ling Goh and Jeslyn Tan, the journey started with long, grueling days—12 hours a day, six days a week—fuelled by determination and love for durian.
In those early months, they tirelessly experimented, crafting handmade durian confections of uncompromising quality. Slowly but surely, word spread—and their little bakery began to blossom.
Then came 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic brought with it immense uncertainty, threatening to undo all they had built. But rather than falter, the duo pivoted. Embracing the shift, they launched an e-shop and delivered their signature durian delights island-wide, keeping the spirit of Ms. Durian alive in households across Singapore.
The greatest challenge came when their lease was unexpectedly not renewed. Faced with losing their home base, they took a bold leap—entering a competitive government site tender for a new space at 11 Kelantan Road, nestled in the vibrant Jalan Besar district. Rallying every ounce of effort and support, they emerged victorious.
What followed was a year-long journey of transformation. Through a painstaking renovation, Ms. Durian found its permanent home in 2021—a standalone café and bakery where the legacy could truly take root.
